Chose the cash envelope system over apps and it actually stuck
I spent months trying budgeting apps like Mint and YNAB but kept forgetting to log stuff. Last month I finally switched to the cash envelope method for groceries and eating out. I pull out $200 for food each week and when it's gone, it's gone. No tracking, no math, just real money leaving my wallet. It hurt way more to hand over actual cash than to swipe a card. I saved about $80 in my first month just on snacks and takeout. Has anyone else had better luck with cash over digital tools?

Wait just to be clear it's not really a "budgeting envelope" in the literal paper sense. It's more like a mental system where you set aside money for each thing. Glad you're trying it though.
