Appreciation post: chose a local credit union over a big bank for my savings

They offered a 4.5% APY on a basic account, which is way more than the 0.01% I was getting. Anyone else have a good experience with a smaller financial institution?

My credit union’s app crashes weekly though.

Actually, that sounds more like a buggy app than a security feature. A good app should be stable. My old bank's app used to crash every time I tried to deposit a check, which is a huge pain. It's probably just bad coding on their end, not something they're doing on purpose. You might want to send them a support ticket every time it happens.
