Vent: I spent 3 years paying $14 a night for hotel wifi before I caught on
I was booking a room in Austin, and the front desk guy quoted me $14.99 a night for wifi, so I just handed over my card like always. Then my sister pulled up the same hotel on her phone and showed me the rate she booked, which included free wifi and breakfast for $10 less. Turns out I had been picking the wrong rate all along, the one that looks cheaper up front, and I never once scrolled down to check what was bundled. Call the front desk and ask what the all in rate is before you book online, that one call has saved me $60 on my last two trips. What's the dumbest fee you kept paying for way too long before someone pointed it out?
