Slept in my car at a Denver rest stop to save $140 on a motel, learned something about my back and my budget
Last month I drove from Kansas City to Denver for a wedding and decided to skip the motel, just parked at a rest stop off I-70 and reclined the seat. Woke up at 5am feeling like I got hit by a truck, and the $12 truck stop shower plus $9 coffee ate most of what I saved anyway. Turns out sleeping in the car only works if you actually plan it, not just wing it after 11 hours of driving. Anyone got a rest stop or truck stop chain that doesn't feel sketchy at 2am?
