Shoutout to the bus schedule in Lisbon that claimed a 20-minute trip but took 90 because of a local festival parade.
Has anyone else had a simple transit plan completely derailed by an unexpected local event, and what's your best backup move when it happens?

Ever try a scooter to skip street chaos?

Yeah, that "20-minute trip" turning into an epic journey sounds about right. My friend was in Rome trying to catch a train after a quick dinner, and a huge religious procession just filled the street out of nowhere. They were stuck for over an hour, just watching their train time tick by. Their backup move is kinda smart though, they always look for the nearest metro station on foot now, since those underground lines usually avoid street stuff. I mean, it's still a panic run with your luggage.

Actually Rome's metro is pretty limited, only three lines. Might not be near you when stuff like that happens. Their backup plan works better in cities with bigger subway systems.
