My old backpack zipper gave out in Lisbon last month.

I used a paperclip and some string from a bakery box to get it closed for the rest of the trip. What's your best roadside repair for busted gear?

Grab a sewing kit from any hostel or hotel front desk. I've fixed torn straps and busted seams with dental floss instead of thread, it holds up way better. Keep a few safety pins on your keychain for quick fixes too.

Why not just buy a new bag right there?

Honestly my buddy tried that once when his backpack strap snapped at the airport. Tbh the only shop open had this one overpriced, ugly duffel bag. He bought it because he was desperate, but the zipper broke like two days later. Ngl sometimes the stuff you get in a pinch is just total junk.
