My dad swore a local bus pass in Tokyo would save me a fortune, but I missed three trains trying to figure the routes out.

He said 'just hop on any bus, they all go to Shibuya eventually' and I ended up in some random suburb 45 minutes out, has anyone else gotten bad advice from a relative who traveled in the 80s?

Hop off the "they all go to Shibuya eventually" train because that lie is older than my dad's 80s suit collection. Pretty sure he was just trying to get you lost so he could have a quiet hour to himself at a convenience store.

Honestly I used to buy into that whole Shibuya thing too until I actually got ditched there by a friend. Now I'm pretty sure it's just a cover story so people can sneak off and grab a solo coffee or hit up a konbini in peace. You might be onto something because my friend came back with a random onigiri and no good excuse for where he'd been.
