I thought the $10 airport bus was a tourist trap, then I rode it 6 times in Chicago
Last month I flew into Chicago for a wedding and the hotel shuttle wanted $38 each way, so I tried the city bus for $10 round trip. I figured it would take forever and drop me somewhere weird, but it pulled up right outside baggage claim and got downtown in 35 minutes. A guy in a Cubs hat on the bus told me the trick is buying the ticket inside the terminal at the machine, not from the driver. I saved $66 over the weekend and put it toward a deep dish pizza. Has anyone mapped out which cities have legit cheap bus or train links from the airport?
