Okay, my best "under $400" trip story is just me getting lost for a weekend in my own state. I mean, I drove three hours, stayed in a weird motel that smelled like old carpet, and my big splurge was a giant pancake breakfast. I guess I spent maybe $350 total, but most of that was gas and eating my feelings after I took a wrong turn and added an extra hour to the trip. Not exactly a glamorous Mexico City adventure, but it was a trip.
