Had to pick between a cheap hostel bed or a long bus ride to save cash in Prague
Last fall, I found a hostel bed for $15 a night but it was a 45 minute tram ride from the city center. The other option was a 6 hour overnight bus from Berlin that got in at 5 AM, saving me a night's stay. I went with the bus, thinking I could sleep on it and just nap in a park later. Big mistake. The bus was packed, noisy, and I got maybe 2 hours of broken sleep. I was a zombie for my whole first day and ended up paying for a coffee shop just to sit down. Anyone have a better trick for handling those red-eye budget trips without being useless the next day?

Ugh, that bus sounds like actual torture. My version of that was trying to save money on a flight home with a 3 AM layover in an airport that had literally zero open seats to crash on. Just walked in circles for hours like some kind of ghost. Never again, I'll pay the extra fifty bucks.

I mean, is one rough day of travel really that big a deal? It's just being tired. I've done that bus from Berlin too and yeah it sucks, but you're in Prague. Grab a coffee, find a bench, and power through. It's not like you're performing brain surgery the next day.

Oh man, I feel this so hard. There's something about those budget travel moves that just hits different when you're running on fumes. I've had a few of those "never again" moments too, and honestly sometimes you just need to vent about it.
