Finding a cheap bus from Prague to Budapest took me 3 hours online

Honestly, I figured booking a bus between two big cities would be easy. I was in Prague last month and wanted to head to Budapest. I went online and just started looking at the main sites. Ngl, it was a mess of different companies, weird departure points, and prices that changed if you left on a Tuesday versus a Thursday. I spent a solid 3 hours comparing timetables, transfer times, and trying to figure out which station was which. The price difference between the first option I saw and the one I finally booked was like 15 euros, which adds up. I ended up using a site called FlixBus but only after checking three other aggregators. Has anyone else found a better way to compare European bus routes without losing a whole afternoon?

Ugh, which sites did you check first?

Actually I usually start with a couple of the big review sites, parker_bell. In my experience they give you a decent baseline to compare from.
