Can we settle this: is a $95 airport lounge day pass ever worth it when your flight gets delayed 6 hours?
Last month my flight out of Denver got pushed back 6 hours and I paid $95 for a day pass at one of those airport lounges, mostly because I was hungry and the gate area was packed. The food was fine, the chairs were quiet, but I still spent $22 on a sandwich before I even got in because I didn't know what was included. Some people will tell you the pass pays for itself after two drinks and a real meal, and honestly I can see that math working if you drink. But I don't drink, and I felt dumb paying almost a hundred bucks for soup and wifi when a $14 book and a bench would have done the same job. So which side are you on, is the lounge pass a real budget hack for long delays or just a fancy way to lose money you already saved on a cheap ticket?
