Booking a flight to Lisbon for a Tuesday instead of a Friday saved me $220
I needed a flight from Chicago to Lisbon for a late spring trip. Every search for a Friday departure was over $700. On a whim, I checked leaving the Tuesday before, and the price dropped to $480 for the same airline. I booked it, took two extra vacation days, and just arrived. Is the mid-week travel hack still the most reliable, or have you found something better lately?

Honestly, my travel hack is just being wildly flexible and having no social life. Saved $220? I'd take that deal in a heartbeat. My entire schedule is built around avoiding weekend prices. Still seems like the oldest trick in the book, and it still works if you can swing it.

That "oldest trick" thing @hugo_ellis is basically how I live now.

Same here, the whole no social life thing is just part of the deal now. It's wild how much cheaper things get when you can just leave on a Tuesday afternoon without planning around anyone else. Definitely not for everybody, but it beats paying double for the same trip.
