Booked a hostel on a sketchy street in Prague to save $12
Back in 2019 I found a hostel for $8 a night. Figured the bad reviews were just picky people. Got there at midnight and the front door was just a curtain. No lock. No staff. Three guys in the room were definitely not tourists. I stayed up all night holding my backpack. Learned my lesson hard. You ever saved a few bucks but regretted it immediately?

Did the curtain at least have a cool pattern on it? I once paid extra for a hostel that had a "24 hour reception" but it was just a dude asleep on the couch who told me to figure it out myself.
