Appreciation post: the $9 bus from Kuta to Ubud saved my whole Bali trip
I got quoted 350,000 rupiah for a private ride from Kuta to Ubud and almost paid it until a local at my hostel told me to just walk to the Perama stop down the road. The bus cost me 100,000 rupiah, about 6 bucks, and took 2 hours instead of 90 minutes, which was fine since I had nothing else going on. My backpack rode on my lap the whole way and the AC was basically a suggestion, but that 250k I kept paid for 3 nights at a guesthouse in Ubud. Anyone else got a favorite cheap intercity bus route in Southeast Asia?
