That time a retired mechanic stopped me in a junkyard
I was pulling a starter off a 96 Civic at Pull-A-Part outside Nashville when this older guy walked up and pointed at my socket setup. He said 'you're gonna strip that bolt if you don't hit it with penetrating oil first and wait five minutes.' I was in a hurry so I ignored him, and sure enough the bolt rounded off. Do you guys ever listen to random advice from strangers in the yard or do you just trust your gut?

Used to blow off old guys like that till an old Ford fella saved me from breaking a bellhousing bolt last month.

Just started asking the old timers first before touching anything rusty. Saved me a lot of time and busted knuckles.
