Stumbled into a junkyard in Nebraska and found $400 worth of parts under a pile of junk
I was out near Omaha last weekend looking for a replacement door panel for my 94 Civic and some guy pointed me to a crushed Escort that had perfect brake calipers just sitting there. Has anyone else found a random goldmine like that or was I just lucky?

Ngl, I think sethc12 has a point. That place is ripping you off if they charged $400. I once found a whole set of wheels with good tires on a totaled Corolla at a yard in Lincoln and they let me take them for 50 bucks total. Junkyards are supposed to be cheap, not charging retail prices like that. You might wanna check out a U-Pull-It style yard next time, way better deals on calipers and random parts.

Wait, you paid $400 for parts at a junkyard? Around here they charge by weight or a flat fee for whatever you pull off a car. I grabbed a set of calipers off a Taurus at Pick-N-Pull for twelve bucks last month. Might want to check if that place is charging you retail or something.
