My buddy swore by a $20 junkyard part that actually worked

He told me to grab a used throttle position sensor from a 2004 Civic at the local pick-n-pull for my project. I was sure it was a waste of time and money, but I did it anyway. Plugged it in and the idle smoothness on my '91 Accord improved in minutes. That was six months ago, and it's still running perfect. Has anyone else had a cheap junkyard part surprise them like that?

What's better than @lisa839's window motor? A whole alternator for fifteen bucks that saved my bacon.

Totally get that feeling. Grabbed a window motor from a smashed Ford Taurus last year for ten bucks. My old one had been dead for months. Slapped it in and it worked like new. Sometimes the junk yard is just full of hidden gold. What's the best find you've pulled from one?
