DAE just live with a leaky valve cover gasket instead of tearing the engine apart?
My 2001 Civic was dripping oil on the driveway in Sacramento and I was about to pay a shop $350 to pull the valve cover and swap the gasket. Instead I spent $9 on a tube of Permatex Ultra Black and ran a thin bead around the seam without taking anything off. That was 4,000 miles ago and the cardboard under my car stays dry now. I know it's not the "proper" fix, but for a $1,200 beater I'll take it, has anyone else skipped the real repair like this and had it hold up?
