Cleaned 12 years of grime off my $400 Corolla's headlights in 20 minutes with $8 of stuff
Before, I could barely see 40 feet at night, and after wet sanding with 800 then 2000 grit and hitting them with a $6 rattle can of clear, the cutoff line is sharp and I can actually see deer now. Did both lights last Saturday in my driveway in about 20 minutes total, way cheaper than the $180 the shop quoted. Anyone got a trick for keeping them from fogging back up, or is polishing every 6 months just the price of being cheap?
Watched my neighbor do this exact sand and clear coat job on his truck and it looked great for about a year, then the fog crept back in. He ended up putting a cheap UV clear wrap on them the second time and they have held up way better since. Doing it every 6 months gets old fast, so a little extra protection up front might save you the hassle.
