Used to spend $60 a week on takeout, now I meal prep for $25 and actually eat better
Back in March I was ordering Doordash like 5 times a week. It was bad. Then I saw my credit card statement and almost cried lol. So I started doing Sunday meal prep with just rice, beans, frozen veggies, and whatever meat is on sale at Aldi. Last week I made 8 servings of chili for like $12. My coworkers think I'm crazy but my wallet thanks me. Has anyone else found a cheap staple that actually tastes good reheated?

Man it's wild how that convenience creep just sneaks up on you. I noticed the same thing with my laundry habits actually - was spending like $30 a month on dry cleaning for shirts I could just wash at home. Once you start looking, you see it everywhere. I think we got sold this idea that paying extra for shortcuts is normal when really it's just companies making money off our tiredness. Meal prep is just one example but the whole system is built to make you think you need the expensive option. Once you break that first habit it gets easier to question the rest.

Started noticing the same thing after my bank app started showing me where every dollar goes. It's wild how cheap real food is when you cut out the delivery fees and tip on top of it. Feels like we got programmed to think convenience is worth the price when really it's just a habit we gotta break.
