That coworker who said I waste money on meal prep still bugs me

I was heating up my Sunday-prepped chili in the break room at work last Tuesday, and this guy from accounting, Dave, walks by and goes 'you know, you'd save more money just eating the cafeteria special for $5.' I told him my chili costs like $1.20 a serving with beans from the bulk bin at WinCo, and he just shrugged and said it's 'not worth the time.' Has anyone else had someone act like spending 2 hours on a Sunday is some huge sacrifice when you're actually saving $30 a week?
