Just realized my $12 rice cooker quit on me mid batch and I had 6 people coming for dinner
It died about 20 minutes in on Saturday, right when the pot was half done, so I dumped everything into a regular pot on the stove and it actually turned out fine, maybe even better. Ended up feeding everyone rice and beans for about $8 total, which felt like a win after the panic. Has anyone else had a cheap appliance crap out at the worst possible time and still pull dinner off?
