Frozen veggies beat canned every time for stir fry
I used canned green beans and carrots for years cause they were like 80 cents a can. Last week I grabbed a bag of frozen mixed veggies for $1.50 at Aldi and tried them in my stir fry instead. The texture was way better not mushy at all and they actually browned a bit in the pan. Has anyone else noticed canned stuff just turns to paste no matter what you do?

Wait, so @wells.morgan's buddy was eating baby food stir fry for years and nobody pulled him aside to say something? That's rough. I can picture him staring at that frozen bag like he just discovered fire or something. Canned stuff has its place I guess, but that place is not anywhere near a hot pan.

My buddy tried the exact same swap last month with his stir fry. He told me he used canned corn and peas for years, said they came out like baby food sludge every time. Then he grabbed a frozen bag and got actual browning on the edges, even a little crunch left. He was so mad he wasted all that time on canned stuff, said his stir fry finally tasted like real food instead of soggy mush.
