Bought a bulk bag of rice and it had weevils after 2 weeks

I grabbed a 20 pound bag of jasmine rice from a discount grocery store for $12, thinking I was saving big, but I didn't check the seal and it was already torn. Two weeks later I opened it to cook and found little bugs swimming around in there, so the whole thing went straight in the trash. Has anyone else gotten burned by bulk buys that weren't actually stored right?

The whole "check the seal" thing is key, but nobody talks about freezing the rice for 48 hours when you first bring it home, kills any eggs before they hatch. That $12 bag would've been fine if you'd done that.
