Serious question, a guy at Best Buy in Dallas told me to just buy a new HDMI every 6 months instead of fixing the bent pin
I was in the Dallas store on Mockingbird last week returning a cable with a bent pin, and the kid behind the counter looked me dead in the eye and said "bending it back is a waste of time, just grab a new one every 6 months like everyone else." I've been straightening bent pins with needle nose pliers for years and never had one fail after, so I wanted to know if he was just hitting a sales pitch or if he actually knew something I didn't. Has anyone here actually had a pin you straightened come back to bite you later, or is this guy full of it?

Cannot believe that guy told you to just keep buying new cables like they're disposable. I've bent pins back plenty of times and never had a single one fail on me either.
