A buddy's offhand joke about zip ties made me rethink my whole cable setup
Last week my friend Dave saw me wrestling with another busted USB cord and said, "you know you're just a hoarder of broken dreams, right?" He laughed but it hit different, because I realized I have a drawer full of dead cables I keep for no reason. Does anyone else hold onto broken cords hoping you'll fix them someday, or am I the only one doing this?

hoarder of broken dreams" got me good. My buddy Marcus has a shoebox full of old iPhone chargers from like 2012 and he swears one day he'll strip them for parts. Last month his cat knocked the box over and he spent a solid hour untangling them, then just put them back in a new box. He still talks about fixing a dead Xbox controller with one of those cables. The thing is he's never fixed anything in his life, but that box stays.
