Warning: I used a $3 plastic scraper at the Pull a Part in Charlotte and it fixed my Civic's window rattle
I was at the Pull a Part yard off Nations Ford Road looking for a mirror when a guy in a beat up Silverado watched me fight my door panel for ten minutes. He walked over with a plastic trim tool he got at Harbor Freight for three bucks and popped the whole panel loose in about four seconds flat. I had been using a flathead screwdriver for two jobs in a row and cracking the clips every time, which is why my window has been rattling since last fall. He told me the trick is the wide flat edge spreads the load so the clip pops instead of snapping, and I did both doors in my driveway that night with zero broken clips. Any of you still prying panels with metal or did everybody already know this but me?
