Watched a retaining wall settle over 3 months and it taught me patience

I built a small retaining wall out back in April, tried to rush the base prep and it looked okay at first. By July, the whole front row had shifted maybe 1/4 inch because I skimped on the compacted gravel. Anybody else find that cutting corners just makes more work down the road?

Yeah rushing dirt work always comes back to bite you. Learned that one the hard way myself.

@ryan_carr59 I read somewhere that compacting properly takes twice as long but saves your foundation in the long run.
