10 bucks says he told you about the time they built that strip mall in 1982 and the foreman didn't know which end of a trowel to hold. Bet he had a story about the 120 degree heat and how the concrete practically cooked before they could finish the slab. Probably dropped some wisdom about mixing mortar too. Classic move.
