Remember when we used to soak bricks for a whole day before laying?
I was on a job in Austin last summer and the heat was drying the mortar before I could even set the brick. My old boss would have told me to soak them overnight. Instead, I tried just dipping each brick in a bucket for about 10 seconds right before I buttered it. It gave just enough moisture to stop the suction without making a huge mess. Has anyone else found a faster way to handle brick in dry heat?

Seriously? I've just been using a spray bottle for years... works fine and you don't need a whole bucket taking up space. Seems like making extra work to me.

Lol that's the move right there. Quick dip is clutch in that heat, saves so much time.

Right? That quick dip is a total game changer. I did the same thing last weekend when it was crazy hot and it made the whole day feel easier. It's wild how just a few minutes in the water can reset you for hours. I'm never skipping it again.
