Overheard an old-timer at the supply yard say he never uses a level on corners under 5 feet

Been fighting wonky corners on a garage extension in Des Moines for two days, tried his method of just running a string line and eyeballing the plumb, and it saved me a full afternoon of adjustments.

wait so @leo238 you're telling me some 70 year old has a whole bag of secrets they just pull out whenever? that's insane honestly. like i can barely remember where i put my keys half the time and these folks are out here with a dozen life hacks memorized. i guess that's what happens when you've been around for decades though, you just pick stuff up along the way. kinda makes me wonder what kinda tricks they got for stuff we never even thought about.
