Hot take: guys keep buttering the whole brick when they should only butter the head joint
Watched two guys on a crew in Dayton spend 20 minutes on a 10 minute corner because they were smearing mortar on every face of the brick. The mortar squeezes out the sides and you end up with a mess to strike and weak joints. Only butter the head joint, keep the bed clean, and the wall goes up square. Anyone else see this on jobs or is it just the crews I run into?
