Bought a 'universal' brick trowel online and it was a complete joke
Saw an ad for a trowel that supposedly fit any hand size and style, so I grabbed one for $45 last month. The handle was this weird plastic that got slippery after five minutes of mixing mortar, and the blade was so thin it bent on the first course. Ended up tossing it in the truck and going back to my old one, which just felt like burning cash. Anyone have a go-to brand for a solid, basic trowel that won't pull this nonsense?

Marshalltown is the only brand I trust (seriously, they're bulletproof).

Right? They really do last forever. My old trowel from them is still going strong after years of abuse.

Is it really that serious? I've used other brands that held up just fine. They're good tools but not the only ones out there.
