The meter reader in my town covers 18 miles a day and knows every dog by name
I was out front with a client's nervous spaniel when the gas meter guy came by, and the dog went nuts until the guy just crouched down and said "hey, Biscuit." Turns out he walks about 18 miles a day on his route and can tell you which house has the meanest terrier and which grandma leaves out water. He's been doing it 11 years, gets paid decent with full benefits, and says the worst part is that nobody ever waves back. Any other jobs out there where the pay is fine and you're basically left alone all day?
