He does quality checks on industrial coating jobs, sits there with a gauge and a log sheet while steel plates cure for 6 hours at a time, and said the only real skill is not falling asleep on camera.

Worked a summer at a powder coating plant in Ohio doing almost the same thing. I sat on a stool with a little temp gun and wrote down numbers every thirty minutes while racks of parts rolled through the oven. The money was silly good for what amounted to watching metal cool down. My biggest problem was staying awake after lunch, and I drank a lot of bad break room coffee to make it through. Camera or not, that job will test your willpower more than any hard labor gig I have ever had.
