That retired bookbinder at the craft fair told me I was using way too much glue on my spines
He showed me a 1950s textbook he restored with barely a smear of paste and after trying it on a rebind of my own worn-out copy of Dune I cut my glue usage by 60% and the spine flexes way better now, has anyone else had an old-timer call them out on a bad habit?

Right?! @ben436 I messed up a whole bookshelf with cheap glue once. Never again.
