Spent 10 years gluing my text blocks with PVA before a binder in Portland told me to try EVA instead

Old me would drown the spine in PVA and wonder why the pages crinkled, but after a 5 minute chat with that guy at the Oregon Bookbinding Guild meetup last spring I switched to EVA and my books lay flat now, has anyone else had a glue epiphany that late into the hobby?

Can't believe you went ten whole years using the wrong glue without anyone telling you sooner.

Dude that's brutal but also kind of hilarious. I did something similar with wood glue on furniture for like six years because I grabbed the wrong bottle from my dad's old tool box. Nobody said a word until a whole chair fell apart during Thanksgiving dinner. My aunt just looked at me and said "that's not the right glue." Real helpful timing.
