My guillotine blade caught a stray staple and now I own confetti

Last Saturday I was trimming a 300 page stack for a client's memoir and one rogue staple from a batch I forgot to check sent a spray of paper bits across the whole shop, so now I'm asking if anyone else has switched to a magnetic sweep before every single cut or am I just the only one who learned this the hard way?
