Update: I voted for the 400-page doorstopper over the 180-page pick and I'm regretting the timing
Our club in Boise had to pick between two novels for the March meetup: the 412-page one everyone kept raving about or a slim 180-pager. I pushed hard for the big one since I'd heard so much buzz, and we went with it 7 votes to 4. Now we're two weeks out and four people have told me they're only on page 90. Has anyone else had a club pick where the length killed the discussion before it even started, and how did you handle it?
