Serious question, I ran my book club for 6 months before someone told me I was doing the discussion wrong
We were at my place in Omaha going through the same routine, I'd hand out a list of questions I printed off the internet and we'd go around the circle one by one, and honestly the talk felt stiff and people kept checking their phones. Then back in March a new member named Priya asked why we never just talked about what confused us, and I sat there realizing I'd been running it like a classroom quiz for half a year while she got more out of one honest side chat than my whole agenda. Does your group use preset questions or do you just let the conversation go wherever it goes?
