Rant: I kept arguing about the wrong part of the book for a whole month
Our club read 'Project Hail Mary' and I was stuck on the science being too simple, saying it made the book feel cheap. Then my friend Mark pointed out that the whole point was the friendship, not the tech details, and I felt like a total fool. Has anyone else missed the main theme of a book because they got hung up on one small thing?

Happens to the best of us. I got so annoyed by a character's accent in a different book that I almost missed a great story.

Accents in text can be tricky to pull off well. Sometimes it's the writing, not the voice in your head.

Got SO caught up in a character's stupid name once I almost missed the entire plot twist. Had to laugh at myself later when I realized the name had nothing to do with ANYTHING.
