Picking between two book club picks and my vote backfired on me
Our club had to pick between two books for March and the vote was dead even at 6 to 6, so I went with the shorter one to save people time. It was a 180 page memoir that read like a grocery list, and half the group quit by chapter four. The other pick was a 500 page novel that two people had already read and liked. I should have just asked what people wanted instead of guessing. How do you all handle ties when the group splits right down the middle?
