My book club's "no spoilers" rule nearly got us in a physical fight last night

Can't believe a book club discussion got physical over spoilers. Was this a newer popular book or something classic that everyone has already read? I've been in my club for twelve years and we always handle spoilers by using those little paper markers that say "spoiler ahead" and then talking about whatever part that person is on. Hope nobody got hurt over a fictional story.
