I never saw the value in debating minor characters until our last session.
Has anyone else found that focusing on side figures can shift the whole discussion?

Honestly, that happens all the time. You fixate on some tiny side detail, and it accidentally shows you the whole point. I see it at work, where arguing about the font on a slide makes you realize the whole presentation idea is wrong. The small, weird fight shows you the big, real problem everyone was ignoring.
