Why does nobody talk about how much welding rod prices have gone up?

I was going through some old receipts from my first job back in 2009 and saw we paid $8 for a 10 pound box of 7018 rod. Yesterday I had to order the same thing for my side gig and it came out to $32 after shipping. Has anyone else noticed how fast the prices have climbed in the last 10 years?
