Watched a foreman on a job in Gary tell a new guy to just weld over a cracked boiler tube instead of cutting it out last week.

The kid looked at me like I was crazy when I said that's how you get a rupture, but the foreman outranks me so I just shut up and kept grinding. Has anyone else had to bite their tongue on a site where the lead guy clearly doesn't care about code?

Friend of mine worked commercial HVAC. Saw a guy use duct tape on a refrigerant line. Said it was fine. Walked away. Whole system blew a week later. That wire nut gas line thing is insane. Natural gas or propane won't care about your little twist cap. It'll find the gap. One spark and that whole building goes up. I've seen guys do sketchy stuff to save twenty minutes. Always ends bad. Either someone gets hurt or they're ripping it all out later for triple the cost.
