Tried using a magnetic sweeper on a jobsite floor - instantly regretted it

I was cleaning up after a 40-foot tank job in Gary and figured I'd speed things up with a magnetic sweeper. Thing grabbed onto a live 1/2" plate we had sitting nearby and damn near ripped the handle out of my hand. Has anyone else almost thrown their back out with one of these things?

Those magnet sweepers don't mess around. Once they bite into something heavy it's game over for your lower back.

Man, yeah. @the_zara nailed it. Those things latch on like a pitbull. I tried to lift one that grabbed an old rebar chunk. Felt like my spine was gonna pop out.
