Spent two whole days on a stubborn flange gasket from a 1980s boiler in the old Dayton plant.

The original spec sheet was wrong, and the replacement we ordered three times still wouldn't seat right. Anyone know a good supplier for oddball vintage flange parts?

Oh man, that sounds like a nightmare. My buddy had a similar fight with an old air compressor flange (a real beast from the 70s). He finally got the right part from this little industrial salvage place out in Pennsylvania, they specialize in that discontinued stuff. He said they basically had a warehouse full of forgotten gaskets and seals. I can dig up their name if you want, they shipped it to him pretty quick.

Yeah those old industrial salvage spots are lifesavers. I read about a guy in Ohio who found a whole pallet of NOS gaskets for 60s era farm equipment just sitting in a barn. The owner had no idea what he had, sold the whole lot for like two hundred bucks. Places like that are becoming gold mines as original parts dry up.
