Remember when we scribbled fit-ups on the back of a soapstone box?
Back in 2001 at the Port Arthur yard, I used to mark every joint with a piece of chalk and eyeball the gap against my thumb. Now I snap a photo on my phone and check the tolerance on a digital level app. It's quicker, sure, but I caught a guy last week trusting a dead battery over his own feeler gauge. How many of you still break out the old string line when the lasers go haywire on a windy deck?
